The kid was on the floor, a curious look on his face. Peishin couldn't decide whether he looked angry, or embarrassed, or afraid. He remembered his own academy days but as hard as he tried he could never remember being this unconfident.
He bent and picked his zanpakuto off the floor, fixing it at his belt again.
What had Itsuru planned to do with a sword that was, after all, a part of Peishin's soul? A person's own zanpakuto would never cut them, not unless they had some serious, deep-seated issues.
He watched the boy for a moment, fighting a surge of anger, then forced a smile.
"That," he said brightly, "was terrible."
Reaching down, he lifted Itsuru to his feet and set him down gently. He paused to brush some of the dust from the kid's uniform, then took the scimitar-sword away from him, giving it a disgusted look as he laid it against the wall.
"Looks like I'm building a house with straw," he chuckled. "Ok, kid, first thing's first. You are spiritually aware. You wouldn't be here if you weren't. You wouldn't have been accepted unless you had a greater than normal amount of spiritual pressure. What you need to do is learn to recognise it."
He laid the asauchi to one side and drew his zanpakuto, and began building up his strength.
"You feel that?" Peishin asked. "That's me increasing my spiritual pressure. You can do it too. Everyone does it differently, for some people it's like turning a tap on and off. For me it's like flexing a muscle."
He relaxed, and sighed. "Try it."

"If you can say died from a hollow attack while protecting my friends, being passed on AND waking up in the academy... so yes you can say that." replyed Itsuru.
Hearing Peishin talk about spirit pressure, was senpai talking about what he did when he ran away from him for having something that scary.
"I better not bring up that HUGE red ball of flame I saw from Peishin-Senpai this morning."
Itsuru laughed and smiled.
"funny that you mentioned that Peishin-senpai, I did THAT this morning, it's my first ability, it isn't much but it's something" said Itsuru. ^^
Getting out and putting on Koori Jun on his back, Itsuru sat down and got out the dnL to prepare for Peishin telling him to try it.
"I hope you don't mind, I need to sit down, I kinda sensed something from you when you pulled my hair when you gave me time to think, I'm sorry if I called you an "Oni" and said "I hated you" this morning, I ran away from you because of that."
Obeying Peishin-senpai without question, Itsuru closed his eyes and focused on his breathing starting to see senpai's spirit preasure... it's huge and it's not red, it wasn't suffocating him either the colour is that blue and green flames he seen in the academy he felt safe. opening his eyes the flame is gone, replacing it with Peishin.

"I can tell you felt it," he said. "Good. First hurdle gone."
He sat down, cross-legged, and closed his eyes.
"Now it's your turn. Try increasing your spiritual pressure and I'll try and sense it."

Itsuru couldn't beilive it, someone has given him praise, it's been the first time someone said "Good, first hurdle done." and not "come on Itsuru, pay attention." Itsuru smiled and formed a tight fist and cheered himself on.
Seeing Senpai smiled made Itsuru feel like he's finally done something right, maybe with more lessons from Peishin-senpai, he might not be called "Itsuru the NED".
--- OOC: NED Non-Educated Delinquent ---
As Peishin requested Itsuru to increase his spiritual pressure
"Ok Senpai, one sprite comming right up" smiled Itsuru.
Itsuru had to think, what can drive him? Peishin is right about everyone has a different way. First Itsuru focused on his love of Skittles and 7up.
"Nope, that can't be right. I need a reason WHY I came here" thought Itsuru
Itsuru closed his eyes and tried to focus on his spirital pressure,
"What can drive me?" wondered Itsuru
The next thing Itsuru can think of was being at the soul academy seeing himself kneeling on the floor and hearing the laughing and the insults.
"No, I am stronger then that" said Itsuru starting to hold Koori Jun.
Still focusing still picturing being crowded by the other students, human and shinigami alike who was laughing at him. He starts to see himself standing infront of him carrying Koori Jun soon a few people are standing by the Itsuru with Koori Jun, The Itsuru who was kneeling down is starting to stand up.
Itsuru is starting to feel tingly all over his body, If that isn't spirital pressure, then what is?

Peishin nodded.
"I feel it. It's there, but it's weak and unstable. Ok, you can stop."
He laid his zanpakuto across his knees and ran his hand up the blade like a magician preparing a trick. It wasn't much to look at, truth be told, with a plain brown hilt wrap and a rectangular guard.
"This is my zanpakuto. Her name is Sabishi Kokoro, and she is, as far as I can tell, a melee-type weapon. There are many types of zanpakuto, including elemental based and kido based, but no matter what their classification they all represent a shard of the owner's soul."
He lifted Sabishi Kokoro.
"She is my anger," he said. "She is my calm. She is my shame and my pride, my love and my hatred. She is the part of me that wants to fight, that is prepared to kill, and die, in response to those feelings. For me, emotions are my whetstone."
He paused. "I imagine your spiritual pressure is unstable because of your lack of confidence. Relax, keep practising, and you'll get better with time. I'm still unstable myself, because I'm a bit of a flake," he grinned, "and because emotions aren't stable. But when the mood to fight takes me, I'm all business."
Peishin put his zanpakuto down across his knees again.
"All you have to do is find your resolve. Once you find that nothing can hold you back from achieving your potential. Do you understand? Have any questions?"

As Peishin told Itsuru to stop, Itsuru gave a tired sigh and landed on the bench. having a drink of 7up to recoperate, Itsuru "resolve" was protecting the ones he hold close to like his friends from school, Tenshi, Husky-Kun and Peishin Senpai, maybe there is more to protecting the ones he love... maybe he should also protect the ones he... Itsuru stopped thinking as Peishin was introducing Sabishi Kokoro
Sitting down and contemplating on Senpai's words, maybe that is why Itsuru picked up Sabishi Kokoro in the first place.
Itsuru was angry at other people, who hated him, he felt ashamed for using Peishin's zanpakuto. Itsuru is now starting to hate himself but yet... Itsuru seemed calm about about it, he SHOULD take pride within himself and should value himself.
Itsuru is now lying down on the bench looking at the blue sky.
"Man, that's deep, I can understand, maybe that is why I picked up Sabishi Kokoro in the first place, I shouldn't really appologize to you senpai" said Itsuru
Itsuru got off the bench and stood up and bowed to Peishin's zanpakuto and was ready to appologize.
"Hey, erm, I'm sorry, my bad."
Itsuru didn't have any questions in mind, maybe Peishin will go to the next lessons. (maybe the movement, hand-to-hand and the kido and LEAVE the swordplay to last *HINT HINT*)

OOC:
wtf? what on earth do you mean, a "daytime TV talkshow host"?
---
"Thank you for apologising," Peishin said, smiling. "It's usually bad manners to touch someone else's zanpakuto, but you weren't to know. Apology accepted."
"Now... in my opinion, zanjutsu is the basis of all Shinigami disciplines. Through our sword we become ever stronger, and with it we cleanse Hollows and perform konso on poor, earth-bound souls. This is our sacred duty."
He looked Itsuru up and down. "That said, relying on zanjutsu alone will get you killed, so now we'll move on to another skill."
"Hoho is the art of fast movement which, when mastered, will enable you to use shunpo, or flash-step. Don't bank on doing that anytime soon though," he grinned, "I'm still working on it and am far from good at it."
"Hakuda is the art of hand-to-hand combat. That's pretty self-explanatory."
"Finally, kido is the art of demon-magic. There are hundreds of spells, some of which are easy, some hard, some of which are legal and some of which are not. If you're sensible you'll stick to learning the approved spells."
Peishin spread his hands, palms up, "Which would you like to try first?"

"Dammit, if I don't... Mitsurugi-Sensei WILL bite my head off." thought Itsuru.
Suddenly Peishin got a text message.
[glow=green,2,300]"Training my wee-Itsuru eh? He never comes to me if he needed me help with the sword, tell him I'll see him after school. Scott (Squad 11 Kendo Team)."[/glow]
"Translation: Stick to those boots you have on Itsuru it's not worth it." thought Itsuru.
Suddenly, There was another text message for Peishin it seemed to be requesting something.
[glow=green,2,300]"Louh-San, This is a message from the squad 12 R&D Team, I would like to require Itsuru's boots (his rollerblades), if he refuse... use force (he is tickleish) and if YOU refuse I WILL SPAM THIS MESSAGE!. I wan't to upgrade them... P.S I'm the one with the colour changing-goggles."[/glow]
"Aww man, I can remember the time Takeharu-Kun teaching me to do Hakuda."
Itsuru was walking down memory lane and yet again Peishin's moblie recieved yet another text massage.
[glow=green,2,300]Konichiwa Louh-san, I've been watching you two from the academy roof. I'm glad you're helping Itsuru-san out, I've heard Itsuru isn't doing well in the academy and failing in the Hakuda department, I hope you're teaching him well tell him "No slacking, I want him on his top condition" (he is starting to pay more attention to you, I'm glad Itsuru) Takeharu (2nd Squad). P.S Itsuru dropped his Daruma.[/glow]
"I bet you my bag of Skittles and my last 7up if there is another text-message, This is beyond a joke." said Itsuru sounding quite annoyed.
Yet another text message but this time it was on Itsuru's moblie, itsuru is starting to get ticked off.
[glow=green,2,300]Hey, There Zak, I heard you are down lately so I thought I'd drop you a line... me and the guys want to see you after your private lesson? I'll meet you in your room at 6:30 tonight Takeharu is brining those dumplings you like. Quin Daichi, Kido Corps & 5th Squad.[/glow]
Itsuru got a bag of skittles out of his front pocket and a bottle of 7up and gave them to Peishin.
"I hope that is the last text message, It seems I'm not gonna learn anything with this."
As the bombardment of text messages stopped, Itsuru sat down to turn his phone off and started to think what to do other then Hoho and Peishin warned him not to do zanjutsu. so the only options are Kido or Hakuda. I done Hakuda before but he did seem pretty rusty and Itsuru never done magic before so Itsuru had to say it.
"Well I better do Kido get the spiritual stuff out of the way first, I hope to push people back without using my Cobalt Defender, that was the Asauchi with the sheath I couldn't draw from." said Itsuru.

Peishin blinked in surprise when he got the first message, and had to fish in every pocket to find the phone. He took it out and frowned at it.
"Damn it. No matter how many times I get rid of this thing it always ends up in my pocket again. Someone must be doing it to annoy me."
He read the first message and answered.
I have no idea who you are. Stop contacting me.
Almost as soon as he'd shut it and put it away it beeped again. Irritation began to colour Peishin's cheeks, but he took the phone out, read the message, and answered it.
I don't follow anonymous orders.
"Bloody thing," he muttered, and dropped it into his pocket. It went off again, and the red of his face darkened from annoyance to anger.
Nevertheless he took it out. The message was blank.
He heard Itsuru say he'd try kido and made a firm decision.
"Okay, kid. Lesson one."
Venting some rage, he threw the phone up into the air and pointed his right index finger at it.
"Hado four: byakurai."
A lance of lightning leapt from his finger and hit the phone in the centre of the keypad, shattering it into countless pieces and scattering them across the courtyard. Scraps of melted metal and plastic rained down around them.
He was pleased to see Itsuru turn his own phone off.
"Right," he sighed. "Now let's get started. I'm going to teach you the first hado and the first bakudo. There are tricks to performing demon magic, but I want you to try these two spells without any coaching, to see your level."
Peishin sat down directly in front of Itsuru, one finger lifted for attention.
"Listen carefully."
He spoke the incantation for the first destructive spell, slowly, emphasising important words, and named it: Sho, aka thrust. After that he pronounced the incantation for the first binding spell: Sai, also called restrict.
"Would you like a demonstration or would you just like to try them?"

"Aww man, too much for my head to take!" said Itsuru starting to drink his half bottle of 7up. Itsuru holding his head with both hands it found it hard to consentrate. "It makes me feel I chosen Numeracy AND Science, my worst subjects in school" said Itsuru and feel on the floor. *Anime Style Cry* TT__TT "Why? I'm doomed to go to squad 11!, aww I don't wanna be in squad 11, do you know what they do to the "Freshmeat?" Not giving Peishin any chance to reply to that question. "I'm gonna make me their mitch!" (No, I'm not going to say it) Itsuru didn't felt happy about spells, Sure he liked casting spells on those RPG's (but those are just video games to him) but not being able to cast spells made him think of this... Itsuru being 6 foot, imagining squad 11s six-pack would make Itsuru's 6-pack look like a keg and waking up to your male room mate. Itsuru is now shuddering on the floor, with that fear in mind.

The boy was on his hands and knees on the floor, shaking like a branch in a gale.
"Itsuru? What the hell's wrong with you?"
He hunched down, and stared into Itsuru's eyes.
"What are you?" Peishin asked. "Are you a man? Or are you a mouse?"
He stood and in one easy movement brandished his zanpakuto, took up his fighting stance, his feet braced, his knees bent, his left shoulder pointed forward. Holding Sabishi Kokoro in one hand, he slid the other hand up the back of the blade.
"Stalk, Sabishi Kokoro."
The zanpakuto, a mere katana before, dissolved into mist and re-forged itself as a long, straight blade with three icepick-ends sprouting from the length of the metal. Peishin's spiritual pressure skyrocketed, and his face became a creased mask of rage.
"This is resolve, Itsuru!" he yelled. "This is taking your soul in hand and standing up to fight!"
He swung Sabishi Kokoro at the training dummies lined along one wall. There were eight of them, and they fell to the floor in halves. As the dust cleared, it was obvious that his strike had hit the wall behind them too; there was a long, straight scar running its length, looking strangely organic as the white coat fell off revealing red brick underneath.
Peishin closed his eyes and his zanpakuto, in a spurt of mist, became a katana once more. His spiritual pressure decreased abruptly and regained its normal feel. The anger sloughed from his face with a shudder, and the stranger he had become was replaced by familiar old Peishin once again.
He didn't smile. "Are you a man? A man faces his fears and overcomes them, no matter what. Only mice succumb to fear. Only mice run away from a fight and count that as victory. Men fight, and deal with the consequences. Failure is something you risk, and deal with, it's not something you let cripple you."
He held out his hand. "Will you be a man? Will you try, even if it means failing?"

After Itsuru's hysterical episode, Itsuru was trying to calm down trying NOT, to wise-crack Peishin about the man or mice remark, Itsuru stood up and looked at the walls and looked at senpai's feet.
"I guess... you do mean everything to me senpai, I know you are angry at me for not trying to do kido, but sure I'm loud and maybe you want me to calm down."
looking at Peishin in the eye taking a risk of getting his hair pulled.
"Sure I know I'm ashamed to ask anyone for help and say, "I don't understand about magic", if you were in my..."
Itsuru paused and looked down at his feet and looked at senpai again.
"Sandals, you would proberbly feel naked. I was proud so see everyones spirit for the first time. I loved that you sacrifed your time for me to help an academy student out and I can see you're hating me to throw everything away."
Itsuru starting to feel braver he took a deep breath starting to feel like his old loud self.
"I am NOT a man and I am NOT a mouse, I am Zak Itsuru and do you know what I'm gonna say about that?."
Itsuru have given Peishin a chance to think on what Itsuru may say next Itsuru scratched the back of his own neck and smiled.
"Can you... possibly show me a Kido demo?" said Itsuru with a confident and assertive manner

Peishin listened to Itsuru and smiled a world-weary smile, dropping his unshaken hand.
"I understand completely, Itsuru-kun, and despite what you think, I'm not actually angry. There's no shame in asking for help, you know, and there's no shame in accepting the help offered to you by... a friend."
He grinned, suddenly.
"So you say you're not a man? You say you're not a mouse? That sounds like resolve to me, Itsuru! It sounds to me like you're ready to gamble! I'll show you the trick of performing demon magic now."
Pleased by Itsuru's new sense of assertiveness, Peishin sat down again, cross-legged, and leaned forward before starting the spell.
"Call me nii-san Itsuru-kun."
"Okay, a demonstration. Imagine a completely black room. No stars, no suns, no grass under your feet or sky over your head. Completely black. Got it?" He opened his eyes briefly to check Itsuru was following his instructions.
"Now, imagine a circle of white light in front of you. That is the well of demon magic. To focus your spiritual pressure as kido, you must throw yourself into the circle. Head first," he added. "No safety net."
"Try it," he said.

Itsuru sat down and crossed his legs, having difficulty imaging nothing, he can imagine a black room where he hid when he was 8 (but no dropping from the sky at infinate feet.)
Itsuru opened his eyes seeing the hall with those dummies (some butchered by Oniichan's zanpakuto), but when Senpai wanted Itsuru to call him "Nii-san", Itsuru never had an older brother before (we was an only child).
Itsuru had an idea of his own, he can remember having an OBE feeling when he goes to sleep on his bed all the time.
"Maybe I should lay down, for a while, I hope Nii-san won't mind." thought Itsuru.
Itsuru went on his back and slowly closed his eyes, about 5 minutes later Itsuru is starting to feel the floor disappering in his minds eye, his body lifeless Itsuru started to fell vertigo.
"Ok, I musn't wake up until I can find that "circle of white light" Nii-san to talking about." thought Itsuru.
still plummeting into the dark abyss, Itsuru was starting to lose hope in finding the well of demon magic. over the distance Itsuru saw a glimmer in the dark as Itsuru went closer there was that circle of white light it reminded him of diving in the deep end of the swimming pool. Itsuru dived in the circle of light it felt like he is in a highly lighted up swimming pool.
"I may want to get this part over and done with, but this is kinda good." thought Itsuru mentally closing his eyes.
Meanwhile back in the academy, Itsuru physical body is still on the floor where Peishin is waiting.

"You're over-thinking it," Peishin said softly. "The circle isn't an object, you don't look for it. Draw it with your mind. Just imagine it, a perfect circle drawn in white. Then imagine letting yourself fall into it."
He waited patiently while Itsuru attempted that.
