She laughed loudly at his comment about her hierro, though it was quite plainly forced.
"You're good, Shi~ni~ga~mi," she sang. "You've made me angry."
Reina began building her strength, releasing it from the bonds she'd placed it under. Her spiritual pressure rose steadily, and as it did her expression intensified from irritation to rage, wrinkling the flesh between her eyes and around her nose as she bared her extended canines. Her cute face took on an alarmingly brattish expression - the look of an insulted ten year old - though this brat could level buildings.
"I'm going to make it easier for you to fight seriously, Shi~ni~ga~miiiiiii."
Bunching her legs, Reina leapt into the air, accelerating past fifty metres before she began to slow. At that altitude she straightened both her arms, pointed her palms at a slight inclination, and released two cero at the city around her. They fell on the unsuspecting Humans, two bright yellow burps of death, accompanied by the mocking laughter of the Espada Sexta.

Kaede was silent for a moment after witnessing the attack. "You're a monster." He said as he jumped up to the same height as her. "Hollow kill to survive, which is understandable, but you killed all those people so I would fight you, that is truly unforgivable." His spiritual pressure jumped rapidly as he closed his eyes and held his sword in front of him. "Glow, Kaijin!" He said as the wood on the sword's guard grew up the back side of the blade. He then flashstepped right in front of Reina ready to stab at her stomach. The wood burst into flames as he stabbed at her, increasing both it's speed and power.

Good, now he's angry.
Reina blinked when the captain disappeared, but managed to turn in the air and avoid his savage thrust at her belly. She felt the Shinigami's blazing blade sizzle past her navel and considered herself quite fortunate to have just powered up. Otherwise she'd be barbeque right now.
That's a lot more speed than I was ready for, She thought nervously. And this is only his first release. Time to fight smart.
Grinning at her opponent, Reina used sonido to return to the ground and made a dash towards the all-night convenience shop they'd recently vacated. She had a feeling he wouldn't mind fighting down there anymore, now that she'd shown her lack of compunction about killing Humans.

After he missed, Kaede swung his sword sideways, extinguishing the flames and leaving just the black and white burnt wood. He fleshstepped in front of the store in Reina's path and charged at her with a rapid series of slashes. If the sword hit anything, even if it's blocked, the following slash would be stronger and faster.

The captain blocked her way into the building and attacked with a swift blur of slashes. She met each one with her zanpakuto and hierro, keeping pace with his power and speed as the strength and frequency of attacks increased.
At one point, however, she felt a sting on her arm after blocking. The one sting became many as if she were being bitten by a group of ants. A few flecks of blood flew as she turned aside her opponent's sword with her hand, and she realised what was happening.
He's beating my iron skin, she thought. Crap!
She took a chance and grabbed his blade instead of blocking. The sword cut into her flesh but she ignored the sharp pain and stabbed at the captain's eyes with her fingers.

Before she could reach his eyes, Kaede grabbed her wrist with his free hand. The wood on his sword was now chipped and cracked, revealing the glowing orange embers inside. "You no longer have to kill humans to survive. Why do you still do it?" He asked as he pushed himself away from her, sliding his sword out of her hand.

"You ask me that but you don't know anything about me," she replied, rubbing the gash in her palm. "You assume I go out of my way to kill Humans, but I don't. I just wander from place to place, dealing with life as it comes."
Reina pointed at the smoking rubble of a sizeable part of the city.
"That wouldn't have happened if you had fought all out from the start," she said. "You hurt me, I hurt you. Look down on me and I'll kill you. Or I'll take something from you that you can't replace."
With a quick flick of her wrist she flung out her zanpakuto, its wet-flesh tail trying to coil round his swordarm, and placed herself on the opposite side of him with sonido. Her free hand blurred towards his ribs.
